Methodological procedures used in Czech language education on courses for foreign children

This thesis aims to find out and compare different methods of teaching Czech language on courses for children with different mother tongue and their effectiveness in working with children. The theoretical part introduces the issues foreign children have in Czech schools and summarizes the possible solutions. There are also listed the school systems of the countries from which most children come to the Czech Republic. In the practical part of the thesis there is research, which was performed by observation method. This research attempts to capture the whole course of the lesson, the practices of the lecturers and the behaviour of pupils.
Intercultural aspects of social support

The first part of the thesis is a theoretical compilation of surveillance assembled from professional sources, resources and research. In the theoretical part of the thesis deals with the issue of social support and its intercultural aspects. The focus is on the attitudes and prejudices, intercultural psychology, communication and barriers arising from it, as well as social support, its types, empathy and prosocial behavior. The second part of the thesis is the proposal of empirical research. It deals with the methodological process aimed at finding differences between access to social support and the provision and acceptance of Czechs and Slovaks.
Multicultural aspects at teachers work

In addition, the survey provides a certain historical context related to the education of minorities in the Czech Republic before 1989, and describes the current situation in the area of multicultural education in our country. It examines how teachers should be equipped to deal with situations linked to multicultural education and what teaching methods teachers use to motivate pupils. In the practical part, it shows examples of several lessons in which teachers work with broad topics of multicultural education. It also contains an overview of several case studies based on experience. The work should contribute to a greater discussion of the subject. Acculturation of immigrants in the Czech Republic

This diploma thesis deals with the process of acculturation of immigrants in the Czech Republic. The aim is to analyze the process of acculturation and its particular phases in case of foreigners with different nationalities and identify a possible tendency in ways they are able to integrate into the new society, including factors, which can possibly affect this process. Outcomes of the thesis are concrete recommendations for immigration authorities in the Czech Republic and determination of acculturation strategy, which is characteristic for immigrants.
Czech-german cultural differences in german company from the point of view czech and german workers.

The work deals with the contrasting the Czech-German cultural standards, both generally and specifically in the German travel agency Wolff Ost. Reisen, which has one of the branches in the Czech Republic. The study describes and characterizes the different cultural dimensions and standards, including theoreticians, who deals with the various dimensions. Part of the work is devoted to characterize the specific Czech-German cultural dimensions and standards, from the Czech and also from the German point of view. The outcome of this work is a survey, which was conducted by the company in Germany and a branch in Prague. The work also includes research methodology and characteristics of the enterprise. A separate chapter is devoted to evaluation of the survey.
The development of intercultural competences of children of pre-school age focused on growth of perceptiveness towards the different kinds of environment.

The main aim of this work is to suggest an educational offer for development of intercultural competences of pre-school children with focus on development of their sensitivity towards different enviroments. The theoretical part characterises the child of pre-school age and clarifies the term learning at nursery school. It also focuses on intercultural psychology, intercultural training and the role of a teacher at acquiring intercultural competences of children. The practical part is divided into six parts field-tested with pre-school children. In the last part all the activities are summarized. There is also casuistry of sensitive perception of different parts of the Earth by children of the nursery school in Čejetice.
The program of developpement of intercultural competence by preschool children

The primary objective of this thesis was to describe methods applicable for the development of intercultural competence in preschool age children. The theoretical part is focused on clarifying the terms such as learning, learning theory and learning styles. Subsequently, the attention is paid to the terms that are related to level of cognition, social perception and personality of the preschool age child. A description of the intercultural terms like psychology, communication, conflict, education and competence is also included. The basis of the practical part consists of methods applicable for the development of intercultural competence in preschool age children whose main inspiration was indian culture. A range of specific activities that can be used in kindergartens is also included in this part. In the methodology, a notion of qualitative research and observation methods are described and the final part contains a case study of activities developing the preschool age child´s intercultural competence. The thesis is supported by photos that have been taken during introducing the different ? indian culture to the children and that are available both for viewing and downloading on the web.
Cultural shock: Russian in the Czech Republic

The diploma paper: Cross-cultural shock: Russian in the Czech Republic picks up again on the bachelor paper. In the theory part I focused on the intercultural management, cultural dimension, analysis of the economical, diplomatic and political relationship between czech and russian nations. The last one is the cultural shock as a big problem these days. In the practical part I analysed cultural shock of the russian students studing at the University of Economics, Prague.
